Then the episode ends with a nice montage of scenes which take place in underground car parks – a location I’ve long thought was vital to any modern thriller.Īfter this, recording switches to another time on Channel 4 for a classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller, Shadow of a Doubt. Watching this just reminded me how vile the film is. I have to admit that this is a film I didn’t enjoy very much. There’s pictures from ITN, from inside a furniture van full of policemen in riot gear emerging to overrun the estate, an operation to target drug dealers. The first item looks at the relationship between the police and the media on the Broadwater Farm estate, following the murder of PC Keith Blakelock.
